| Alcohol Awareness for Prom |
All juniors and seniors watched a mock prom accident, where victims were evacuated by helicopter. Following the accident was a mock funeral for the victims |
| Safety Town |
Team members volunteered to assist the Lake in the Hills Police in running Safety Town, a program that teaches children how to stay safe at home and around the community. |
Founders Day Presentation and Parade |
The Project Ignition team introduced our project to Algonquin Dignitaries and participated in a parade during our annual Founders Day Festival |
| Wrecked Car Demonstration |
A wrecked car was donated to us and used as our float for the Founders Day Parade and Displayed next to the Main Entrance of our school for a week. |
| Senior Citizen Night |
The night was spent as a refresher course reminding the seniors the rules of the road. |
| Parent Night |
Timothy Smith, author of the book Crash Proof Your Kids, spoke to parents of teenagers explaining them "How to Crash Proof Their Kids" during our parent night. |
| Safety Week |
During Safety Week, our team used quizzes and incentives to educate and remind students to drive safely. |
| Seatbelt Check |
The Algonquin Police performed a seatbelt check and handed out our Safe Driving Brochures. |
| Rollover Demonstration |
A Rollover simulator was brought in to driver's ed classes. The simulator showed how important it is to wear a seatbelt. |
| DUI Golf Cart Demonstration |
Driver's ed students also drove a golf cart through a course while wearing drunk driving goggles to see how being intoxicated effects your driving. |
| Distraction Video |
Our team produced a video that shows the most common and most dangerous driving distractions and how to avoid them. |
| Road Rage Power Point |
Our team produced a presentation on Road Rage, what causes it and how to avoid it. |

A group of music students worked with our team to create a powerful theme song about a drunk driving accident. |
| Parent/Student Handbook |
A handbook that consisted of 30 lessons on how to show their child how to drive. |
Speeding Elimination

Drivers Ed students came up with ideas to reduce speeding in our community's most troubled areas. |

Signs that said "Buckle Up Eagles" and our project ignition slogan were posted at all the parking lot exits |

| Ride-along with Algonquin Police |
Several team members patrolled with the Algonquin Police on thanksgiving weekend to look for drunk drivers. |

Students were quizzed in the beginning and end of Safety Week to see how much they had learned. |
| City-wide Seatbelt Signs |
Approximately 20 signs were posted throughout Algonquin reminding drivers to Buckle Up. |
| Daily Quiz for Safety Week |
Every morning during safety week, questions were asked to each class over the morning announcements. The class with the most right answers received a reward. |
| Key Chain Reminder |
During all of our presentations we handed out key chains to remind our audience of everyone who is important to them by associating a color to each of there friends. |
